Motivation--staying power--even after trauma, schedule interuptions, sickness, how do we keep on keeping on? Well, if there was a magic pill or if any of the "whamping diets" out there had those ingredients we'd all be set eh?
How do we stay motivated? How do we keep the styaing power? Let's face it sometimes we don't! The key I believe, is to not beat ourselves up about the "miss" no guilt trips, just pick ourselves back up and get back to our healthy choices. No self-lectures, sabotage, just realizing this is all part of life, and once we are back on solid ground, pick up the good habits and carrying on. I know it is easy to say, but more challengin to actually carry out. that is why the following idea's may lend a helping hand:
1) keep your activity varied--mix it up-- so you do not get bored
2) make it fun, music is always great addition
3) bring a buddy or two
4) make appts. for yourself, for your healthy habits and then keep them
5) set small realisitc goals and then celebrate them
6) when the routine is interupted--remember it's okay---deal with it and pick back up ASAP-- no guilt-just move!
